Lynne Valdes, MS, C-IAYT, E-RYT 500, is a Mind-Body/Yoga Therapist at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. She offers group and individual sessions as part of the Integrative Health and Wellness team in support of the Integrated Patient-Centered Medical Home approach to healthcare. Lynne teaches evidenced-informed mind-body skills to promote self-care, enhance self-regulation, and foster resiliency. These skills include the practices of yoga – philosophy, postures, breathwork, and meditation – as well as mindfulness, and relaxation techniques. She works primarily with patients in Internal Medicine, the Warrior Clinic, and the National Intrepid Center of Excellence.
Lynne has an extensive background in adaptive yoga and a wide range of experience working with individuals with behavioral health disorders, chronic conditions, and disabilities. She holds a Master of Science in Yoga Therapy from Maryland University of Integrative Health, is certified through the International Association of Yoga Therapists, and registered as an E-RYT 500 with Yoga Alliance. Lynne is the daughter of a retired naval officer and Vietnam veteran, and a former navy spouse of 20 years.
