Aron Lanie

Aron Lanie is a lifetime athlete and former U.S. Army paratrooper. She began practicing yoga for physical fitness, athletic recovery, and to address pain from physical injuries. Over time she also saw improvement in her emotional well-being. The healing and comfort she experienced in mind and body through yoga is something she hopes to share with others. Aron received her 200-hour yoga certification from Earth Yoga in Koh Samui, Thailand. Since receiving her 200-hour certification, she’s completed the Level 1 and level 2 Warriors at Ease trainings and the integrative Restoration (iRest) Yoga Nidra meditation level one training. Aron is currently working to complete her 300-hour yoga certification.

Aron recently graduated from the Recreation Therapy program at UNCW., and teaches at gyms, studios, community centers, corporate settings, retreats, and workshops. Aron brings yoga and meditation to veterans, students with intellectual and developmental disabilities, adults with disabilities, and people who have been incarcerated. Her intention is to create an environment where students can feel welcome and at ease and feel empowered to make the practice work for their unique needs because yoga is for every body. Aron has worked with many non-profits such as Yoga Village, Veterans Yoga Project, Team Red White and Blue, ACCESS of Wilmington, LINC, Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program, PB Abbate, VFW, and Student Veterans of America (at UNCW campus). Aron has joined the WAE team as a Project Assistant and will be assisting with special projects.
