Jennifer Deets serves as an Advisor for Research and Evaluation, continually providing comprehensive and accurate program impact tracking and outcome evaluation. Jennifer is an Army veteran, an Army brat, a Marine Corps spouse, and an Army mom. Each of these roles has helped her to understand the tremendous importance of the Warriors at Ease mission.
Jennifer’s professional and yoga paths took unconventional routes until finally intersecting in the Warriors at Ease Transform Program Director role. She began her own yoga practice in 2009 and completed her initial yoga teacher training in 2015, was a 2018 Warriors at Ease Teach, Train, and Transform (T3) Fellow, and has been teaching since as a Certified Warriors at Ease Teacher (WAET).
Jennifer holds a bachelor’s degree in Russian from Duke University, where she was in ROTC; an M.A. from the University of Texas at Austin in Slavic Linguistics; and a Ph.D. in Curriculum Studies, also at UT Austin, where she focused her studies on the anthropology of education and on qualitative research methods. She brings 23 years of university-level teaching and research experience and nearly a decade of data analysis in the industry to the important task of studying and documenting the reach and effects of Warriors at Ease programs.
